Who We Are
The Acme Bus Co is a leading provider of school transport – mainstream, special needs and adult day-care within the Essex, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire areas.
In addition, we run coaches, buses and minibuses for private trips within the UK see our Private Hire pages.
What We Do

Work Life Balance
Most of our Drivers and Passenger Assistants work part-time on school runs, with school holidays off. We are proud to be an age-friendly organisation, with many of our staff being over retirement age and enjoying the extra income and a real sense of purpose.
Great Location
For part-time roles it makes sense to live near the run, or for Bus and Coach drivers relatively close to the depot. If there are no vacancies in your area when you apply, we would be happy to keep your details on file then contact you if a role in your area.
DBS Checks
Since we provide services for with children and vulnerable people, a DBS is essential but our friendly team here will help you with all the paperwork. You will also need a medical, and a full driving licence with less than 6 penalty points. PSV Drivers will also need an up to date CPC.
